Tiffin Top ( also known as Dorothy’s Seat ) is a short trek, ideal for the novice, school trips, or for those who want to enjoy the scenic beauty of Nainital. This spot is one of the best spots around Nainital city. You can see a beautiful view of Nainital lake, and many famous places/architectures are visible from here, like- Snow-view point, St. Joseph School ( Founded: 1888), Raj Bhavan (Governor House, founded-1897), Golf course, Sherwood College, Birla Vidya Mandir School, and many more.
How to reach
There are many ways to reach the Tiffin top, among them Barapatthar to Tiffin-top route is the most famous and preferred.
Trek Distance From Barapatthar:
3.5 km appx.
Starting point:Â
Khacchar stand/Pony stand, near Lover’s Point. You can hire a pony/khachkar from this point if you don’t want to trek. But in my opinion, you must go on your own, to enjoy the natural beauty out there. Lovers’ point is around 3 km from Mallital taxi stand (The upper part of Nainital lake is called Mallital, and the lower part is called Tallital ).

Starting point:
Near All Saints College, Ayarpata road. You can hire a cab/taxi to reach there. It’s around 2.3 km from Tallital and 3.2 km from the Mallital taxi stand.
If you want to start the trek from Tallital Bas stand, then it’s around a 3 km trek from Tallital to Tiffin top via a walking trail.Â
